C F C
there's a house across the river but alas i cannot swim
C D
and a garden of such beauty that the flowers seem to grin
           C F C
there's a house across the river but alas i cannot swim
C D C
I’ll live my life regretting that i never jumped in

C F C
there's a boy across the river with short black curly hair
C D
he wants to be my lover and i want to be his peer
           C F C
there's a boy across the river but alas i cannot swim
C D C
And i never will get to put my arms around him

F C F C F C C

C F C
there's a life across the river that was meant for me
C D
instead i live my life in constant misery
C F C
there's a life across the river but i do not see
C D C
why i should please those who will never be pleased

Em C Em
there is gold across the river but i dont want none
Em F C
there is gold across the river but i dont want none
          Em F C
gold is fleeting, gold is fickle, gold is fun
          Em D C
gold is fleeting, gold is fickle, gold is fun
C F C
there is gold across the river but i dont want none
C D
i would rather be tried than held up by a golden gun
C C F C
saying work more, earn more, live more, have more fun
C C F C
saying work more, earn more, live more, have more fun
C C F C
saying work more, earn more, live more, have more fun

I'm playing very quietly unamped as it's 2am, but I *think* all the Ds sound better as Gs.

Looks good otherwise, thanks. And apologies if I'm talking crap.
