[Verse 1]

A5 B5
Come over to the window my little darling
D5 A5
I'd like to try to read your palm
F D5
I used to think I was some kind of gypsy boy
 G5 D5 F#5
Before I let you take me home
          A5 G5
Cho...Now so long Marianne it's time we began
          D5 F#5 A5
To laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again

[Verse 2]

A5 B5
Well you know that I love to live with you
D5 A5
But you make me forget so very much
F D5
I forget to pray for the angels
G5 D5 F#5
And then the angels forget to pray for us

[Chorus]

A5 B5
We met when we were almost young
D5 A5
Deep in the green Lilac park
F D5
You held on to me like I was a crucifix
G5 D5 F#5
As we went kneeling thru the dark

I don't know if it depends on my recording, but it sounds like it was based on A more than G.
There are also various sections missing in the lyrics.

Saludos, Candle

Version 2 has the correct lyrics and chords (i.e. A, Bm, D, A, G, F#m, E), but if you put a capo on the second fret, and play the chord shapes in this version, then it's good (and also, I think, easier to play than version 2). Also, in the chorus, instead of D7, I play around with the e string on the D (Dsus2 = xx0230 and then Dsus4 xx0233) and do a similar thing with the G (Gsus2 = 300003 and Gsus4 = 320013). I've no idea if this is in the original but it sounds quite good.
