[Verse 1]

Friday night it was late I was walking you home we got down
                to the gate and
              C13#11 [guitar plays C9-5: x32332]
I was dreaming of the night
        Would it turn out right
        How to tell you girl
I wanna build my world around you
        Tell you that it's true
        I wanna make you understand
             Bb9 D Em7/D D
I'm talking about a lifetime plan

[Verse 2]

That's the way it began we were hand in hand
Glenn Miller's band was better than before
We yelled and screamed for more
And the Porter tune (Night and Day)
Made us dance across the room
        It ended all too soon
And on the way back home
I promised you'd never be alone

        Hurry don't be late
        I can hardly wait
I said to myself when we're old
We'll go dancing in the dark
        Walking through the park
                 D Em7/D D
        And reminiscing

[Verse 3]

Friday night it was late I was walking you home we got down
                to the gate and
I was dreaming of the night
        Would it turn out right
Now as the years roll on
Each time we hear our favorite song
        The memories come along
        Oh the times we're missing
        Spending the hours reminiscing

[repeat chorus]

Coda: trumpet solo over shortened verse [omit lines 4-6] chords;
        fade over repeated D, Em7/D

Great work! Sounds perfect. Ignore the comments above, this song is clearly not for them.

Anyway here's a couple of voicings I found handy.

For the C13#11, there's no need to play the 3rd on the D string, so a better sound to me is x3x332. Or another option is 8x877x.

And for the C13/G, I haven't found a good way to put the G in the bass, but 8x89-10-x sounds nice to me. Putting the G in the bass, you can use x-10-89-10-x, which might be better actually.
