[Verse]
Life is short in spite of your plans
So tell the girls they're pretty while you can
Cause one day they're gone, and all ya got left
is some empty bottles and an ol country song
that plays on and on
I've wasted my time with these cigarettes
and these ashes are all I got left
I watch this old town and nothing's left for me
Washed down stream and into the sea

[Chorus]
                   D F#m
Cause this big old river will kill us in time
                           E D
Till then we'll drink it's weight in cheep beer and wine
                     F#m E
We can drink just as fast as the river is strong

And we'll drink till we're gone

That is the chord progression for the verse, if you wanted to strum them.
