An A9 in the verse section? No way-- it sound sour, discordant and muddy. And it doesn't follow the melody in any way whatsoever. A regular A-chord works fine and matches the melody. There may be a way to embellish the A and fancy it up a bit... but the A9 as listed here is certainly NOT it.
