[Chorus]
           D
I sailed a wild, wild sea
             Em
Climbed up a tall, tall mountain
        D
I met a old, old man
          A
Beneath a weeping willow tree
            D
He said now if you got some questions
       Em
Go and lay them at my feet
       D
But my time here is brief
          A
So you'll have to pick just three

[Chorus]
And I said
D Gmaj7
What do you do with the pieces of a broken heart?
    Gmaj7 D
And how can a man like me remain in the light?
       D D7
And if life is really as short as they say
     G Gm
Then why is the night so long
             A
And then the sun went down
      A (let ring) D
And he sang for me this song

[Bridge]
      D Em
See I once was a young fool like you
 D
Afraid to do the things
       A
That I knew I had to do
     A
So I played an escapade just like you
  Em A
I played an escapade just like you

[Chorus]
           D
I sailed a wild, wild sea
             Em
Climbed up a tall, tall mountain
         D
I met an old, old man
         A
He sat beneath a sapling tree
            D
He said now if you got some questions
       Em
Go and lay them at my feet
       D
But my time here is brief
          A
So you'll have to pick just three

[Chorus]
And I said
D Gmaj7
What do you do with the pieces of a broken heart?
    Gmaj7 D
And how can a man like me remain in the light?
       D D7
And if life is really as short as they say
     G Gm
Then why is the night so long?
             A
And then the sun went down
      A (let ring) D
And he played for me this song

[solo}

May I suggest that the Em/G controversy is because it is actually a Gmaj6 chord? I'm hearing an E tone in there, but Em isn't right.A couple voicings:Gmaj6 - x20000, x22033Also I'm hearing the transition back to D at the end of the line. Dand how can a man like me remain in the light?

I think that it should be as below: D and how can a man like me remain in the light?

Request for help! The line where it says " A (let ring) D" - when you type (let ring) it makes the line text and the chords are not recognized as chords and won't transpose and now I've lost to original key! :) can you take out "(let ring)"
