...MY GIRL... by Madness
-------------...........

*from 'One Step Beyond' (1979)*

*NB* / = Slide (between Chords)

Intro:

C#m A F#m, G#m B (x3)

Verse 1:

C#m/C/C#m A/G#/A (F#m)
        My girl's mad at me.
C#m/C/C#m F#m
I didn't wanna see the film tonight.
C#m/C/C#m A/G#/A (F#m)
I found it hard to say.
C#m/C/C#m F#m
She thought I'd had e-nough of her.

Chorus 1:

E E/D# C#m
 Why can't she see;
F#m E B
 She's lovely to me?
E E/D# C#m C#m/B A
But I like to stay in, and watch T.V.
C#m F#m F#m7 B
On my own, every now and then.

Verse 2:

C#m/C/C#m A/G#/A (F#m)
        My girl's mad at me.
C#m/C/C#m F#m
Been on the tele-phone for an hour.
C#m/C/C#m A/G#/A (F#m)
        We hardly said a word.
C#m/C/C#m F#m
I tried and tried, but I could not be heard.

Chorus 2:

E E/D# C#m
 Why can't I ex-plain?
F#m E B
Why do I feel this pain?
E E/D# C#m C#m/B A
 'Cos every-thing I say, she doesn't, under-stand,
            C#m F#m F#m7 B
She doesn't rea-lise; she takes it all the wrong way.

Piano Solo:

C#m/C/C#m, A/G#/A (F#m), C#m/C/C#m, F#m (x2)

Verse 4:

C#m/C/C#m A/G#/A (F#m)
        My girl's mad at me.
C#m/C/C#m F#m
We argued just the other night.
C#m/C/C#m A/G#/A (F#m)
I thought we'd got it straight,
C#m/C/C#m F#m
We talked and talked, un-til it was light.

Chorus 3:

E E/D# C#m
 I thought we'd a-greed,
F#m E B
I thought we'd talked it out.
E E/D# C#m C#m/B A
Now when I try to speak, she says that, I don't care,
             C#m F#m F#m7 B
She says I'm un-a-ware, and now she says I'm weak.

Outro:

C#m A F#m, G#m B, C#m

Instead of the e/d* a normal b i think sounds a little more natural. Good version otherwise though. Thanks.
