Strumming

During the chorus and verses, keyboards and guitar are rolling back and forth with D, C, Bm, C, D, etc. In the
pre-chorus, guitar goes back and forth on F and G. Then for the Be good be good's, the D, C, Bm, C pattern
continues. It was hard to indicate in the notation,
but the final C of the "be good" stanzas occurs precisely when the background singers say "Jooohnny."

Verse:
D C
Skip de skip, up the road
Bm C
Off to school we go
D C
"Don't you be a bad boy Johnny
  Bm C
Don't you slip up or play the fool"

D C
"Oh no Ma, Oh no Da,
Bm C
I'll be your golden boy
D C Bm C
I will obey ev'ry golden rule"

Pre-Chorus:
F G
Get told by the teacher
F G
Not to day-dream
F G
Told by my mother:

Chorus:
D
Be good Be good
        C
Be good be good be good
        Bm
Be good be good be good be good (Johnny)
C

D

        C

D C
"Are you going to play football this year, John?"
Bm C
"No!"
D C Bm
"Oh, well you must be going to play cricket this year then, are you Johnny?"
C
"No! no! no!"
D C Bm
"Boy, you sure are a funny kid, Johnny, but I like you! So tell me,
C
What kind of a boy are you, John?"

Pre-Chorus:
F G

F G
All the day long
F G
