Dear Theodosia, what to say to you?
F#m
You have my eyes
Dmaj7
You have your mother's name
E A C#m/G#
When you came into the world you cried
                F#m
And it broke my heart

Dmaj7 E

A C#m/G#
I'm dedicating every day to you
F#m Dmaj7
Domestic life was never quite my style

When you smile
C#m/G# F#m
You knock me out, I fall apart

And I thought I was so smart

E A C#m/G#
You will come of age with our young nation
                F#m
We'll bleed and fight for you
               Dmaj7
We'll make it right for you
E A C#m/G#
If we lay a strong enough foundation
              F#m
We'll pass it on to you
                Dmaj7
We'll give the world to you
                   E A
And you'll blow us all away
   C#m/G# F#m Dmaj7
Someday, someday
                     E A
Yeah, you'll blow us all away

Look at my son
C#m/G# F#m

First off, I want to commend you on a great job transcribing this song, Sparklesparkle. After listening to it, I would correct every C#m/G with an E/G#. I think every F#m& should be a F#m. Switch the Dmaj7's to just D's and switch all the D's in Hamilton & Burr's part to Dmaj7's. Thanks!

Great job! When they sing "my father wasn't around, I swear that I'll be around" I would change to D E Fm E D rather than D E D E D eccetera. As for the corrections above, I prefer the original tab. The corrections change the chords from minor to major, and I personally think the former sounds better

Thanks for your kind words and suggestions. I have changed the F#m7 to F#m. Based on the notes in the piano, it is definitely a C#m/G# (the A slides down to G# and the C# stays) and there is a C# in the D chords. I can confirm that the "my father wasn't around" part only has D and E chords in it, and F#m shouldn't be A.
