Track no. 1 on 1972's The Godfather OST: "Main Title (The Godfather Waltz)"
Composed by Nino Rota and conducted by Carlo Savina.
 
The main theme heard in many variations throughout the trilogy, consisting of the melody of
"The Godfather Waltz", as the title would suggest. The track that later appears on the soundtrack
features a mandolin and can be found among my tabs, this one does not feature one. The instruments
included are a guitar and brass section playing in the background and a cornet, clarinet, oboe, violin
and melodica in the foreground. Transposal from the other instruments to the mandolin in GDae standard tuning.
