I sing this song as part of the Milwaukee Irish Fest Choir, and (at least in our arrangement for four voice ranges and a piano) there is are different words, and it's a lot longer. I know that this song has a lot of variation, but I think that it would be better to add more as it allows for those looking for any length of the song. The first and second verses (both followed by the chorus) go, in our version: May the road rise to meet you May the wind be at your back May the sun's rays shine warm upon your face May the rain always bring a rainbow and gladness to your heart and may god be there to hold you in your face (Chorus:) 'Tis a blessing of the Irish that I'm sure you'll understand That wherever your travels may lead you May god hold you in the hollow of his hand.
