G6 is the same as an E minor, which is more likely to be the chord because it's simpler and fits the progression

I think the Am/G at "the feelings you don't dare to feel" should be this.

I'm not sure how to play a G6/B (what I've found looks like an Em7, which sounds ok, but perhaps the 7th quality feels a bit out of place), but what I think works well in its place is a C/B (x22010). That gives you the feel of the walking bass line down from the C to the A. You can play the Em (or Em7), but if you hit the bottom E (open 6th string), you'll lose the feel of the bass line.
