THE BEST ROOM
by Modest Mouse

This song has a lot of overlayed guitar parts, so forgive the overwhelming structure.
If you're playing this by yourself, you'll probably want to mix and match the parts
you like the best.

This song also uses a lot of octave and power chord shapes that slide up and down the neck,
especially the fills. Oftentimes the bottom note is optional; simply play to your comfort.

[Chorus]
(Only ambient guitar is played here; so here are the approximate chords.)

         F Dm Am

[Transition with only drums and bass, same chords as verse if you want to play them]
    C

        Am
And the novelist to my right's convinced that every woman's a whore

[Solo]
This solo has 3 guitar parts overlapped. Guitar 1 is the most prominent,
Guitar 2 is fairly in the background, and Guitar 3 comes in on the 5th bar fairly loud.

Simply ad-lib the rhythm, there's no real pattern here.

[Outro]
The guitar from the verse is played again, along with the solo guitar. These are now repeated until
the ending Am chord on "all goin' apeshit."

(Guitar 1)
   Go reckless, unharmed...
e|----------------------------|----------------------------|
B|----------------------------|----------------------------|
G|----------------------------|----------------------------|
D|-----10----10----10----10---|-----10----10----10----10---|

A|----(7)---(7)---(7)---(7)---|----(7)---(7)---(7)-- (7)---|
E|--5-----5-----5-----5-------|--5-----5-----5-----5-------|

Take note that after playing this twice, the bass goes to an F and E in the bass
instead of a C and A. This doesn't change the guitar part but if you're working out
a solo version you should keep this in mind.

(Guitar 2)

   Go reckless, unharmed...
