This might not be the right chords, but it sounds hell of a lot better than the other one.

Intro:
| GG | GG | CC | GG | DC | GG |

      G
In the summertime when the weather is hot,

you can stretch right up and touch the sky,
        C G
when the weather is fine, you got women, you got women on your mind.
       D
Have a drink, have a drive,
C G
go out and see what you can find.

      G
If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal,

if her daddy's poor, just do as you feel.
        C G
Speed along the lane, do a ton or a ton and twenty-five.
         D
When the sun goes down,
        C G
you can make it make it good in a lay-by.

              G
We're not grey people, we're not dirty, we're not mean,

we love everybody but we do as we please.
         C G
When the weather is fine, we go fishing or go swimming in the sea.
              D
We're always happy,
           C G
life's for living, yeah, that's our philosophy.

      G
Sing along with us, da da di di di

Da da da da yeah we’re happy
      C G
Da da da da, di di di di di da da da
         D
Da da da da ,
       C G
da da da da da da da da da da da da

            G
When the winter's here, yeah, it's party-time,

bring a bottle, wear your bright clothes, it'll soon be summertime.
          C G
And we'll sing again, we'll go driving or maybe we'll settle down.
         D
If she's rich if she's nice,
           C G
bring your friend and we will all go into town.

Repeat Verse 1, 2, 3 and then the diddles until fade out.

You're right, it's not the right chords.
Well it depends on how you look at it. It could be viewed as right chords, wrong key.
When you say it sounds better than the other version, do you mean the one that starts with an E chord?
Because technically that one is in the right key and yours is exactly the same transposed 1&1/2 steps higher. Which would make it the wrong key.

The original song is in the key of E, but the way I feel is that you should sing the song in you best key so there is no right or wrong key. As a matter of fact alot of acts change key of their songs depending on how there voices are when they preform or if they are in a studio or live, etc. Saying all that great job on the chord sheet I appreciate it when people take the time to do the whole song and not just the first verse and chorus.

Keep up the great work.

PS I think it sounds best if played in an E feel (capo to key of your choice) play the I chord open and the rest of the chords in barre chords in the "F" style moved up 5 frets for the IV and 7 frets for the V chord
