This tab is great and sounds like the album. Thank you. I agree with the barre chord choice and I tend to play the big G with 3rd fret in the 2nd string. I think this is a great one to play with/for friends. I'm not really sure why people posted full tabs in the comments instead of posting new versions if they wanted too, it is good as written. I thought I would add some ways to pick/strum it, in case it helps stimulate anyone. The album uses different takes and effects between the verses/choruses so watching a live performance can be informative when figuring out how to perform it: https://youtu.be/gDuty1k1P58?t=667 The idea is the song is sparse and repetitive and the guitar is not a piano - ie. there's not a whole lot of room to build the intensity. Start more subtly and build it up slowly. There are different ways to do this, here are some ideas, mix and match where you throw in the 4-finger picks, etc. #s are the string # to pick, first string with always with thumb. Strumming: D = down accented, d = down not accented. u = up. Verse #1 (take a look): Em* 5-4-3-, Bm 5-4-3-, C 5-4-3-, G 6-4-3-, Am 5-4-3 2-3-4-, D 4-3-2- 1-2-3- Verse #1 (your face): Em* 5-4-3-, Bm 5-4-3-, C 5-4-3-, G 6-4-3-, G 6-4-3 2-3-4-, D 4-3-2- 1-2-3- Chorus #1 (I've been... wrong): Em 6-4-3- 2-----, C 5-4-3- 2-----, G 6-4-3- 2-----, D 4-3-2- 1----- Verse #2 (Well contempt loves): Em* 5-4-3-, Bm 5-4-3-, C 5-4-3-, G 6-4-3-, Am 5-4-3- 2-3-4-, D 4-3-2- 1-2-3- Verse #2 (They say that): Em* 5-4-3-, Bm 5-4-3-, C 5-4-3-, G 6-4-3-, G 6-4-3- 2-3-4-, D 4-3-2- 1-2-3- (Start building movement) Chorus #2 (I've been... wrong): Em 6-4-3- 2-3-4-, C 5-4-3- 2-3-4-, G 6-4-3- 2-3-4-, D 4-3-2- 1-2-3- Chorus #2 (I'm a slow dying): Em 6-4-3- 2-3-4-, C 5-4-3- 2-3-4-, G 6-4-3- 2-3-4-, D 4-3-2- 1-2-3- (Add 4-finger pick to first note) Bridge: Em* (5432)-4-3-, Bm (5432)-4-3-, C (5432)-4-3-, G (6432)-4-3-, Am (6432)-4-3 2-3-4-, D (4321)-3-2- 1-2-3- Bridge: Em* (5432)-4-3-, Bm (5432)-4-3-, C (5432)-4-3-, G (6432)-4-3-, G (6432)-4-3 2-3-4-, D (4321)-3-2- 1-2-3- (Start strumming softly, building in intensity) Chorus #2 (I need the darkness): Em D-d-d- D-d-d-, C D-d-d- D-d-d-, G D-d-d- D-d-d-, D D-d-d- D-d-d- Chorus #2 (I need a lullaby): Em D-d-d- D-d-d-, C D-d-d- D-d-d-, G D-d-d- D-d-d-, D D-d-d- D-d-d- (Suddenly get calmer, to build tension even mor (see live video). 4-finger picks, just let it ring for 6 beats) Chorus #2 (I'm a slow dying): Em (6432)----- ------, C (5432)----- ------, G (6432)-4-3- 2-----, D (4321)----- ------ (Stuff is about to go crazy, play rubato, sing with slow intensity, lean into the bass notes a bit, last pause is dramatic) Verse #3 (Do you remember): Em* (5432)-4-3-, Bm (5432)-4-3-, C (5432)-4-3-, G (6432)-4-3-, Am (6432)-4-3 2-3-4-, D (4321)-3-2- 1-2-3- Verse #3 (Your face saving): Em* (5432)-4-3-, Bm (5432)-4-3-, C (5432)-4-3-, G (6432)-4-3-, G (6432)-4-3 2-3-4-, D (4321)----- ------ (Go to town with the strumming, building up in intensity to about "death" (depends how you want to end it) Chorus #3 (I need the darkness): Em D-dudu D-dudu, C D-dudu D-dudu, G D-dudu D-dudu, D D-dudu D-dudu Chorus #3 (I need a lullaby): Em D-dudu D-dudu, C D-dudu D-dudu, G D-dudu D-dudu, D D-dudu Dududu Chorus #3 (Is it dark enough): Em D-dudu D-dudu, C D-dudu D-dudu, G D-dudu D-dudu, D D-dudu D-dudu Chorus #3 (You better shut): Em D-dudu D-dudu, C D-dudu D-dudu, G D-dudu D-dudu, D D-dudu Dududu (Finish in your own way, bring the audience down from their cathartic explosion. It's probably nice to to repeat the chorus chords 2 or 3 times, adding some 7th chords and higher notes in like she does on the piano. Either keep strumming on a bit bringing down the intensity or maybe 16th note finger picking with the full picked chords thrown in) Em C G D, Em C G D
