People were waiting in line for a place by the river

Eb/F F
Come to marry his fortune with a hand full of promises

To find they've closed the door
           Am Dm
They don't want him anymore
       Gm Bb F
There isn't any more to go around

Turning away he remembers he once heard a legend

That spoke of a mystical magical land called America

Great song, fine tab, thank you! Some suggestions to add some touches of the original: - the Eb in the verse sounds like an Eb/F (x-x-3-3-4-3) to me - last line of the verses might profit from some special chords: Was it [Gm7]anything like [Bb/C]that when you arri-i-[Fmaj7]ived? - PRE-CHORUS: the Cm sounds more open as a Cm7 - CHORUS [F]There was a time when [Am]strangers were welcome [Gm]here [Bb/C] [F]Music would play they [Am]tell me the days were [Gm]sweet and [C]clear It was a [Am7-5]sweeter tune [D7] And there was [Bb]so much ro-o-o-[Eb9]om That [F/C]people could [Bb/C]come from everywhere [F F C/F F C/F F C/F F F ]

Thanks ...I thought that should be an Eb/F in the verse as you stated... I will try your other suggestion as well and incorporate it after I try it out... Thanks again
