This is one of of those many, many Neil songs that slipped in under the radar. The "Doom Trilogy" had so many gigantic slabs of genius that it was easy to miss little gems like this one.Apparently dealing with an LA earthquake (and tsunami?) it feels like a song that Neil may have hopped out of bed in the middle of the night in a burst of inspiration and wrote what he was hearing in his head. Or pulled over to the side of the road to scribble the lyrics, Or maybe it was written to be the theme song of a movie one of his buddies wrote on a bad acid trip. Either way, this song is a marvel of simplicity made complicated by the mystery of the lyrics. The maj 7ths make it happen. I've been playing this sing wrong for years and it's nice to have the right sequence now. Thank you.
