Wow, quite a dialogue. Funny thing, I didn't even notice the lyric change until i saw the comments. With this many comments I wanted to see what people were saying. Although I was dissapointed to find no comments on the actual music I was entertained for few minutes. I feel the need to comment because although the closest thing I can claim to Neil Young is that my parents both turned 14 in 1970 and probably skimmed over a Neil Young record at some point. That said, I think Neil Young would like these lyrics. The parallel is insightful. And while i cannot prove that gmsje knew Peggy, I think its obvious that dale007's use of the term "faggot", used in the attempt to offend, points out that he knows very little about Neil Young. His music was sweeeeeettt... but his lyrics were to sting.

Actually, one of the reasons they blocked your comments is because you made comments about more than just me. And your comments were beyond "mean." Otherwise, they'd probably still be up. If you have read any of my other contributions to UG forums you would know that I have no problem with wide open freedom of speech, in fact I've defended it for other people's contributions regarding the songwriting and lyric forum. If you don't like ideas or lyrics, that's fine. If the only way you can express that is to spew hate then I hope you grow beyond that. We could have a interesting exchange of ideas if you would become at least a little flexible about your thinking. Actually, a lot of popular songs are rewordings of older songs, for example, Woody Guthrie's Ramblin' Round is a rewording of Good Night Irene. Hope you're mellowing out a bit.

Dale, Dale, Dale. You let your demons rule you. Maybe that's why you're so slow on the up take. It took you 5 months to come up with stuff you've already said. Face it. My lyrics communicate. That's why you can't shut up about 'em, you Neo Con you. Your doctrines are burning fast Dale. Better keep your head.
