LongFellow Serenade:Neil Diamond.
#5 in 1974.

         (Capo 4th fret.)

#1.
C
Longfellow serenade, such were the plans I'd made,

For she was a lady, and I was a dreamer,

with only words to trade.

#2.
                    F
You know that I was born for a night like this.
                                   C
Warmed by a stolen kiss, for I was lonely..
            G7
and she was lonely.

CHORUS:
C F C G7
Ride, come on baby, ride..let me make your dreams..come..true.
             G
I'll sing my song..let me sing my song..
               F C G7
let me make it warm..for..you.

#3.
     C F
I'll weave this web of rhyme upon this summer night.
      G C
We'll leave this worldly time on his winged flight.
                                             F
Then come, and as we lay, beside this sleepy glade..
           C G7 C
There I'll sing to you..my Longfellow serenade.

#4.
C
Longfellow Serenade, such were the plans I made.

But she was a lady..as deep as the river..

And through the night, we stayed.
                 F
And in my way, I loved her as none before.
                                           C
Loved her with words and more..for she was lonely..
          G7
and I was lonely.

CHORUS:
C F C G7
Ride, come on baby, ride..let me make your dreams..come..true.
             G
I'll sing my song..let me sing my song..
               F C G7
let me make it warm..for..you.

#5.
    C F
I'll weave this web of rhyme upon this summer night.
      G C
We'll leave this worldly time on his winged flight.
                                             F
Then come, and as we lay, beside this sleepy glade..
           C G7 C
There I'll sing to you..my Longfellow serenade. (Fade.)

In the second line of the CHORUS, I think the chord above the first "song" should be a C, with a C7 over the second "song." I also think a C7 sounds better than the C over the second "ride" in the first line of the CHORUS. Otherwise, it's a very good Tab.
