This song is basically

Dm F C Gm

Over and over

Here's how I play the intro (sounds 100% accurate)

[Intro]

e|-----------------5-----------0---------6---------------------------------|
B|-------6-----------------------------------------------------------------|
G|----7----------5----------0---------7------------------------------------|
D|-----------3---------------------5---------------------------------------|
A|-5---------------------3-------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|

I play that through to the end of the 1st hook (just like the recording) then when I hit V2 I start strumming
the chords as I usually play them (open chords), then for the ending go back to the intro,
this has a nice dynamic effect that really adds to the power of this song.

[Verse 1]

Dm
When I die, put my ashes in the trash bag
F
I don’t care where they go
C
Don’t waste your money on my gravestone
Gm
I’m more concerned about my soul
Dm
Everybody’s gon’ die
F
Don’t everybody live though
C
Sometimes I look up to the sky
Gm
And wonder do You see us down here?

[Hook]

    Dm F
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    C Gm
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    Dm F
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    C Gm
Oh Lord, oh Lord

[Verse 2]

Dm
Listen, yeah everybody wants change
F
Don’t nobody wanna change though
C
Don’t nobody wanna pray
Gm
Till they got something to pray for
Dm
Now everybody’s gon’ die
F
But don’t everybody live though
C
Sometimes I look up to the sky
Gm
And wonder do you see us down here?

[Hook]

    Dm F
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    C Gm
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    Dm F
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    C Gm
Oh Lord, oh Lord

[Verse 3]

       Dm
It’s easy to blame God but harder to fix things
                F
We look in the sky like, “Why ain’t You listening?”
               C
Watching the news in our living rooms on the big screens
                       Gm
And talking ’bout “If God’s really real, then where is He?”

Dm
You see the same God that you saying might not even exist
         F
Becomes real to us, but only when we dying in bed
           C
When ya healthy it’s like, we don’t really care for Him then
           Gm
Leave me alone God, I’ll call you when I need you again

          Dm
Which is funny, everyone will sleep in the pews
            F
Then blame God for our problems like He sleeping on you
             C
We turn our backs on Him, what do you expect Him to do?
      Gm
It’s hard to answer prayers when nobody’s praying to you

Dm
I look around at this world we walk on
                     F
It’s a smack in the face, don’t ever tell me there’s no God
               C
And if there isn’t then what are we here for?
                    Gm
And what are y’all doing down there? I don’t know Lord

[Hook]

    Dm F
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    C Gm
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    Dm F
Oh Lord, oh Lord, do You see us down here?
    C Gm
Oh Lord, oh Lord

[Ending]

Dm
Do You see us down here? Oh Lord
F C
Can You see us down here? Oh Lord
             Gm
Oh Lord, oh Lord
Gm
Can You see us? Can’t You see us?

Bb is never played in this song. It's Gm. The notes G, D and Bb make the chord Gm, however it can be confusing because the chord is played in a different position than normal.
