In reply to Ben Downes, they use the heavy strings BECAUSE it's in drop-B.
If you listen closely, there's a low B note in the intro (brief, and palm-muted) that could not be achieved without drop-B tuning.
I haven't got time to tab the whole thing just now, but the first two notes are like this:
C#-------------
G#-------------
E -------------
B -------------
F#-------------
B -/12-0-------
The second note can't be played without the proper tuning. If you disagree, don't dismiss my comment immediately. Try listening really hard a few times until you hear it, or maybe watch the DVD. Also, the first note of the solo is played using a harmonic note that can't be achieved unless the guitar is tuned to drop-B.
It took me a long while to realise it was in drop-B but now I'm 100%sure of it.
Other than that, N-dude, good job.

I'ts always interesting to see people debate the proper way to play a particular song, or riff.
I've listened to the song a few times, and think they tuned down a whole step, and then tuned the low E another step down to C, with the openining riff:
d--------------------------------
A--------------------------------
F--------------------------------
C-----------------------------0--
G--------------------------------
C--/12-0--9-10-9-10-9-10-9-10----

Dude, the 2nd chord in the chorus is an open D5 power chord
