   Gm D# Gm D#
  (F#m) (D) (F#m) (D)
You were one step behind in that dismal school of mine
   Gm D# Gm D#
  (F#m) (D) (F#m) (D)
Needle and percocet instead of books on students desks
   Gm D# Gm D#
  (F#m) (D) (F#m) (D)
We were so charming, but the future was alarming
           Gm D#
          (F#m) (D)
But now don't you go look so proud
        Gm D#
        (F#m) (D)
   Yes, guess who's laughing now?

Bb F
(A) (E)
And we've learned that life is one big game
   				     Gm
                                    (F#m)
Where the winners are all getting paid
   			        D#
                               (D)
So stop dragging your feet behind
   					  Bb
                                         (A)
You can't live with the folks all your life
   				  F
                                 (E)
So on those days home in your car
   					  Gm
                                         (F#m)
We jerked the steering wheel to the median
   			    D#
                           (D)
Joking that we'd end our lives
   				 Gm
                                (F#m)
But we weren't joking all the time

   SOLO:

 Gm D# 4x
(F#m) (D)

     Gm D#
    (F#m) (D)
"Start a band or throw a brick"
       Gm D#
      (F#m) (D)
You lazy hipsters make me sick
         Gm D#
        (F#m) (D)
Don't clap your hands; don't start to dance
         Gm D#
        (F#m) (D)
Don't let them know that you're a fan
       Gm D#
      (F#m) (D)
You may be living in Manhattan
  	               Gm D#
                      (F#m) (D)
But where are you really from? (Have you forgotten?)
		       Gm D#
                      (F#m) (D)
Kid, you may be playing your music loud
             Gm D#
But it's drowned out by your mouth

(B F# G#m E)

The chorus progression should be

A - Fm - D - E (Capo 1)

instead of

A - E - Fm - D (as written).
