Nik Kershaw - The Riddle

Chords by Felix Oelmann

A great song from 1984!
(And not too difficult to play as well)
Note: In the 2nd chorus all chords are tuned one step up.
I don't know if my version is entirely correct, but it sounds
right to me..

[Intro]

F#m / E / A / B / F#m / E / D / A / Bm / A / D / E / F#m / E

I got two strong arms
C#m D
Blessings of Babylon
Bm G F#m
Time to carry on and try
    E A B
For sins and false alarms

Near a tree by a river

Where an old man of Aran
      D A
Goes around and around
        F#m E
And his mind is a beacon
       A B
In the veil of the night
      F#m E
For a strange kind of fashion

But he'll never, never fight over you

E A B
I got plans for us
C#m D
Nights in the scullery

And days instead of me
  F#m E A B
I only know what to discuss
C#m D D#
Oh, for anything but light
Bm A D E F#m
Wise men fighting over you

Pieces of valentine

To keep from burning history

Seasons of gasoline and gold

A true 1984 classic, and that's not a bad set of chords - many thanks! It's hard to get them perfect as Mr Kershaw really was all over the shop with his chord setup!😊
