A side: Some Might Say

Chart position: #1

Recorded: February 1995

Released: 24th April 1995

Written by: Noel Gallagher

Produced by: Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher

Tabbed by: Thomas Dunn

Tuning: E STANDARD (Note: like many of the songs recorded by Oasis around the time of "(What's The Story)
Morning Glory?" the song was tuned slightly sharp of E standard, I've found tuning
                    around 450hz/A450 works best.)

Note: This tab is split into two sections, Noel's chords/riffs and Bonehead's chords so both parts are
covered. (In case you couldn't tell, the Noel parts are mainly lead while Bonehead's are rhythm.)
I've tried to cover as much as I can as it is a very busy mix, because of this I have been
adding a lot to the tab over time, and may continue to do so.

Also I have provided chord diagrams below if you are only interested in playing rhythm/acoustically.

Intro chords/riff:
       A A Asus4
e|---555-5-5-5-5\1r----------555-5-5-5-5-5-------|
B|---555-5-5-5-5\1r----------555-5-5-5-5-5-------|
G|---556-5-6-5-6\2r----------556-5-6-5-6-5-7~...-|
D|---557-5-7-5-7\3r----------557-5-7-5-7-5-7~...-|(x2)
A|---557-5-7-5-7\3r----------557-5-7-5-7-5-------|
E|---555-5-5-5-5\1r----------555-5-5-5-5-5-------|

Before playing the following riff you can either play:

e|----5----12----10----8-----7-----5----|
B|----5----15b17-13b15-12b14-10b12-8b10-|
G|-...5-7~------------------------------|
D|-...5-7~------------------------------|
A|----5---------------------------------|
E|----5---------------------------------|

         ***OR***

e|----5-----------------------|
B|----5-----------------------|
G|-...5-7~----7b9-5---5-------|
D|-...5-7~----------7---7-5-7-|(Noel tends to play this or something similar live)
A|----5-----------------------|
E|----5-----------------------|

Then either of the previous parts leads into the main riff of the intro/verse:

   Am D G
e|-----------------------------|
B|-----------------------------|
G|-----------------------------|
D|---7---5-7-------------------|(x4)
A|-0---0------0-6-5------0-3-0-|
E|------------------0-3--------|

There is also an alternative riff to play instead; I don't know if it's actually in the song and I can't
remember where I seen it, but I thought I'd add it in anyway because it couldn't hurt.

   Am D G
e|-----------------------------|
B|-------3---1-----------------|
G|---------0---0-----------0---|
D|---2-4---------2p0-----0---0-|(x4)
A|-0-----------------3---------|
E|---------------------3-------|

Instead of playing the riff a fourth time, on the last go you could play this (and I believe Noel has played
live):
   Am D G Am
e|-------------2-2------------|--...|
B|---5---7--0--3-3-0-3--3-3-0-|-1...|
G|----------0--2-2-0-0--0-0-0-|-2...|
D|-5---7----0--0-0-0-0--0-0-0-|-2...|
A|-------------------2--2-2---|-0...|
E|-------------------3--3-3---|--...|

Or you could play this, which Noel plays live at Maine Road '96:

   Am D G Am
e|-------------------2-----------|--...-|
B|-------3-----------3---3-3-3-3-|-1...-|
G|-------------------2---0-0-0-0-|-2...-|
D|---2-4---4-2-2-2-0---0-0-0-0-0-|-2...-|
A|-0---------------------2-2-2-2-|-0...-|
E|-----------------------3-3-3-3-|--...-|

A|-0-000-0-00------2-2-220-|

G|-2-2-00-000-00-0-0-00-| Note: 'C' can G|-0-|
D|-3-3-02-200-00-0-0-00-| also be played D|-2-|
A|-3-3-03-302-22-2-2-20-| as C/G: A|-3-|
E|----------3-33-3-3-3--| E|-3-|

'Chorus riff' that repeats throughout the chorus:
(this was quite hard to hear due to the rather dense 'brickwalling', however I could pick
it out in the mix. This can also be a little tricky to get the hang of, so I've done my best to tab it to
the first few lines of lyrics as well as the chords; I should think as long as you can match the bend to
'each other', 'one another', 'going to uncover' (etc...) then the rest should fall into place)

    Fmaj7 C G
e|-----------------------------------|
B|-----------------------5-----------|
G|--------------------5--7b8-7-----5-|
D|----------------5-7----------5-7---|
A|-----------------------------------|
E|-----------------------------------|

Because we need each other/Because we believe in one another - etc...

G|---------------------5--7b8-7------------5-----------5---7b8-7-|
D|-----------------5h7-----------------5h7---------5h7-----------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------|

There is also a second riff that is played during the chorus:

   Fmaj7 C G
e|--------------------------------|
B|-----1-------1------1-------1---|
G|---0---0---0---0--0---0---0---0-|

Lyrics with acoustic/Noel chords:

Am
I don't know what it is
               D G
That makes me feel alive
Am
I don't know how to wake
                 D G
The things that sleep inside
Am
I only wanna see the light
      D G Am D G
That shines behind your eyes

Am
I hope that I can say
              D G
The things I wish I'd said
Am
To sing my soul to sleep
             D G
And take me back to bed
Am
You want to be alone
               D G A5 G D/F# Fmaj7 E
When we could be alive instead

          Fmaj7 C G
Because we need each other
     Fmaj7 C G
We believe in one another
           Fmaj7 C G
And I know we're going to uncover
      Fmaj7 C G
What's sleepin' in our soul

          Fmaj7 C G
Because we need each other
     Fmaj7 C G
We believe in one another
             Fmaj7 C G
(And) I know we're going to uncover
                        Fmaj7 C G
What's sleepin' in our soul
                         A5 G D/F# Fmaj7 E
What's sleepin' in our soul

Am
There are many things
              D G
That I would like to know
Am
And there are many places
        D G
That I wish to go
Am
But everything's depending
        D G Am D G
On the way the wind may blow
Am
I don't know what it is
               D G
That makes me feel alive
Am
I don't know how to wake
                  D G
The things that sleep inside
Am
I only wanna see the light
       D G A5 G D/F# Fmaj7 E
That shines behind your eyes

          Fmaj7 C G
Because we need each other
     Fmaj7 C G
We believe in one another
           Fmaj7 C G
And I know we're going to uncover
      Fmaj7 C G
What's sleepin' in our soul

          Fmaj7 C G
Because we need each other
     Fmaj7 C G
We believe in one another
             Fmaj7 C G
(And) I know we're going to uncover
                        Fmaj7 C G
What's sleepin' in our soul
                        Fmaj7 C G
What's sleepin' in our soul
                        Fmaj7 C G
What's sleepin' in our soul
                        Fmaj7 C G
What's sleepin' in our soul
            Fmaj7 C G

The "chorus riff" you posted is actually Sally Cinnamon by The Stone Roses, Noel indeed riffs on it at Maine Road as a homage to the Roses. Otherwise this tab seems spot on and more comprehensive than most others! Thanks!
