There's no slide between the 7's and 9's. Thats what he does play but everybody forgot the part that he's using an octave pedal thats why it sounds like he's playing octaves when he's actually not. With the octave pedal he can get the 7x9 with just a 7 therefore making it easier to nail the solo.
