Em C D G
Em C D G

        Em C D G
Do you remember when we were two beautiful birds we would
 Em C D
light up the sky as we fly,
         Em C D G
You were orange in red like the sun when it sets,
       Am D
i was green as an apple's eye

 Em C D G
You said you loved all the songs that I sing
     Em C D
like nothing you’d ever heard
         Em C D G
And said I loved you with all of my heart, When,
C D G
We were two beautiful birds

Em C D G

  Em C D G
remember when we were two beautiful birds?
          Em C D
we would sing when the morning will come,
         Em C D G
You are silver and blue like the moon when it’s new
       Am D
I was gold as a summer sun,

Em C D G
But one day you asked for a different song,
 Em C D
One that I just couldn’t sing,
           Em C D G
I got the melody sharp and the words all wrong,
Am D
Those were the last days of spring,

Am Em D
To build a nest we pecked feathers from our chests,
        G D
Like a book tearing out every page,
Am Em D
We weren't to know that these feathers will grow
G D
Into a beautiful cage

Em C D G

The Em at the start of each verse can be played with a finger on the 3rd fret of the high e string to play the melody note as well as the chord.
Also, after the Em in the last part (feathers from our chest, Feathers will Grow) you can walk down to the g by playing a D chord after chest and grow.
