Paul Weller - Above The Clouds
                                      Paul Weller

This is based on the acoustic version which was played on Later with
Jools Holland in 2001: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzgh4JZf-R0

Towards the end of the chorus and during the Coda there's a chord I
can't quite work out, I play it as a B7 which sounds okay but Paul plays
something else. Not sure what though. F#m/B or Bsus4 (x244xx) sound okay as
well. If you can work it out let me know so I can adjust the tab.

Emaj7 (076444) Emaj7* (xx999-11)
Amaj7 (x07654) Emaj7** (xx9897)
F#m7 (242222)
G#m7 (464444)
B7 (x2120x) or F#m/B (x242xx)
C#m (x46654)
A (577655)
B (799877)

When playing Emaj7 you'll want to hit the low E string twice before playing
it so something like this:

Also the last three chords in the outro goes something like this:

Intro: | Emaj7 | Amaj7 | Emaj7 | Amaj7 |
         | Emaj7          | Amaj7    | Emaj7          | Emaj7*  Emaj7**  ||

            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Verse 1: Autumn blew it's leaves at me,
            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
            Threatening winter as I walked,
            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
            Summer always goes so quick,
            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7
            Barely stopping like my thoughts.

                  F#m7 (F#m7) G#m7 F#m G#m7
Chorus 1: Which dip and spin and change so fast,
              F#m7 (F#m) G#m7 F#m7 B7
            I have to wonder,
                   Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7
            will I last?

            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Verse 2: Through the windows of a train,
              Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Emaj7* Emaj7**
I caught reflections of a paper cup,
            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Hanging small in a pale blue sky,
            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7
            Never knowing which way's up.

            F#m7 (F#m7) G#m7
Chorus 2: Above the clouds,
                   F#m7 (F#m7) G#m7
            What's to be found?,
              F#m7 (F#m7) G#m7 F#m7 B7
            I have to wonder, ooh
                      Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7
            will I be around?

         C#m F#m7
Bridge : As my anger shouts, at my own self doubt,
         C#m F#m7
So a sadness creeps, into my dreams,
         C#m F#m7
When you're scared of living, but afraid to die,
          A B B
I get scared of giving and I must find the faith to beat it,
            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7
            Oh yeh, yeh yeh yeh.

            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
Time just lingers on the wind,
            Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
            Bristlin' through my open fears,

I wonder what it's goin' to bring.

I think the missing chord might be B11 instead of the B7 (same as B7 just play the 1st string open instead of at 2nd fret).

the F#m7 and G#m7 can be played slightly different than standard barre chords, by using open strings.

try 1st finger at 2nd fret on the 3rd string, 3rd finger 4th fret 5th string, 4th finger 4th fret 4th string, but play 1st and 2nds strings open. slide the shape 2 frets to make the G#m7 (looks like and upside down power chord)

Weller uses these F#m & G#m shapes on his cover of "Early Morning Rain" too.
