Hi! This is a great song from the new album "Backspacer" and I wanted to make an
acoustic version of it. It sounds OK to me, not perfect, but good enough. :-D Play
along with the song to figure out the timing.
If you have any corrections, please let me know!
Enjoy!

NOTE: The verse is the same as the intro and it's kind of hard to write down the correct
timing so you'll have to listen to the song to figure it out.

[Intro]
Bm
D Bm D Bm D Bm D Bm D Bm
D A G

[Verse 1]
Bm D Bm D
Understand she's a force of nature
Bm D Bm D
Contraband hiding deep inside her soul
Bm D Bm D A
Exercising her will to lose control
        G
 She lets go

[Verse 2]
Bm D Bm D
A common man, he don't stand a chance, no
Bm D Bm D
Wonderland pulling Alice in the hole
Bm D Bm D A
No way to save someone who won't take the rope
             G
 And just lets go

[Chorus 1]
D A
One man stands the edge of the ocean
  Bm G
A beacon on dry land
     D A
Eyes upon the horizon
       Bm A G A Bm D Bm D Bm D Bm D Bm
In the dark before the dawn

[Verse 3]
Bm D Bm D
Hurricane has the trade winds blowing
Bm D Bm D
A gale force shaking windows in the storm
Bm D Bm D A
Shipwreck on the rock that he calls home
                G
 With one light on

[Chorus 2]
D A
Somewhere there's a siren singing
  Bm G
A song only he hears
        D A
All the strength that you might think
          Bm A G A
Would disappear,.. Resolving

D A
One man stands alone, Awaiting
Bm G
For her to come home
     D A
Eyes upon the horizon
   Bm A G A Bm A G D A
In dark before the darkness meets the dawn.

[Bridge]
A Bm A Bm
         A
Makes me ache,... Makes me shake,...
         Bm A G A Bm A G A F#
Is it so wrong to think that love can keep us safe?

[Verse 4]
Bm D Bm D
Last I saw, he was out there waiting
Bm D Bm D
A silhouette in the black light, full moon glow
Bm D Bm D A
In the sand there he stands upon the shore
        G
 Forevermore

[Chorus 3]
D A
Somewhere there's a siren singing
  Bm G
A song only he hears
        D A
All the strength that you might think
          Bm A G A
Would disappear, resolving

D A
One man stands along, Awaiting
Bm G
For her to come home
         D A
Eyes are closed,.. You cannot know
        Bm A G A
But his heart don't seem to
D A Bm G
roam.

[Outro]
Play D A Bm G a few times and end with
G A Bm A G A Bm A Bm

hey good job man! but i think its more like

G A Bm C#m
at the end of the chorus bits like wher you have
Bm A G A

also the outro chords are

D A Bm G
D A G A Bm C#m
D A Bm G
D A G A Bm
C#m D Em F#m G (these would be played as bar chords)

but then again it actually sounds alright just strumming G and singing when they do the whole run up the scale with chords.

cheers :)

The end line of the chorus should be G A G A, rather than starting with Bm. At least that's the way I hear it.

Apart from that, great job! :)
