About this tab version
There are 3 chord tabs for this song. One is very poor, the other two are accurate but have very simple beginner chords. After playing repeatedly this song, listening repeatedly to various live/acoustic versions and covers, I came to the conclusion that it has some beautiful transitions and plays which can be transposed acoustically rather nicely. This tab does not give detailed indication on the plays, but when you see the transition chords and listen to the song, they should feet immediately into place.

[Verse]
Bm A Asus2
Hello, is there anybody in there?
G G/F# Em Bm
Just nod if you can hear me, is there anyone home?

Bm A Asus4
Come on, now, I hear you're feeling down,
      G G/F# Em Bm
well, I can ease your pain, get you on your feet again.

Bm A Asus4 G G/F# Em
Relax, I need some information, first, just the basic facts,
         Bm
Can you show me where it hurts?

[Chorus]
D A Asus4
There is no pain you are receding,
D A Asus2
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon,
C G Gadd4 C G Gadd4
You are only coming through in waves, Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying,
     D A Asus4
When I was a child I had a fever,
D A Asus2
my hands felt just like two balloons,
C G G* C
Now I've got that feeling once again, I can't explain, you would not understand,
                     G Gadd4
This is not how I am,
A Asus2 C G D
I______________________ have become comfortably numb.

[Verse]
Bm A G G/F# Em
O.K., just a little pinprick, there'll be no more (Aaaaah),
           Bm
But you may feel a little sick.
Bm
Can you stand up?
                   A Asus4 G G/F# Em
I do believe it's working good. That'll keep you going through the show,
Bm
Come on it's time to go

[Chorus]
D A Asus4 D A Asus4

You are only coming through in waves, Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying,
    D A Asus4
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
D A Asus2 C G
Out of the corner of my eye, I turned to look but it was gone,
                           C
I can not put my finger on it now,
                            G Gadd4
The child is grown, the dream is gone,
A G/B C G D Dsus4

Love the sus chords. And one can go further with this. Try playing around with Bm(sus)2 (on the barre chord just lift up yer middle finger). Also D/A (x04232) is similar to A(sus)2. Makes it easy to switch between, hammer-on/offs etc. From "smoke on the horizon...", the "A", or better yet "A/E", you can walk-up A/F# (202220) to C/G (332010) instead of just "C".Throughout the line: "I___________________, have become comfortably numb" , on all the chords you can just hold your ring finger down on xxxx3x, also making the C into a C9. also play around with hammer-on/offs. For example you call pull-off from the Bm to A.
