I think this chart is pretty accurate for the bass notes, but if you play the full chords it will clash with the vocal melody, because the original song is recorded with the rhythm guitar only playing 5ths (power chords) alongside a kind of droning lead guitar line that provides some other tones which don't align with the upper harmonies in these standard major and minor chords. you can see this in live videos. I like playing it with power chords and letting all the higher strings ring out. I think that comes pretty close to the sound of the recording when playing the song on solo acoustic guitar.
