I don'tknow why but it sounds wrong... I'm just a beginner though so idk. Em seems to not fit in most places... to my ear.

The Dm is the right chords but not in some places. The parts where you play the (until you're gone..) ends on a G chord not a Dm. And the song also ends in G. The key is C major, so you would want to end on a Major 5th (aka the G), ending on a minor 3rd would be stupid because it's a major song. So end it with a G. The Dm is the right chord tho in some places.
