Street Of Dreams by Rainbow

The original poster wrote:
"A great song I first heard on their best of album from 1997. I decided to work
out the chords so I could include this in my solo set, so this is only the chords
as I could work them out. It's how I play it myself, so places are probably
wrong, and not having a backing group, i haven't tabbed the solo/intro. Anyway,
enjoy."

I have fixed up the chords as they appear in the song. The minor-major changes
are what make this song great, imho. Enjoy! chords-by-ear, hfisher@socal.rr.com

[Intro]
F#m F#m A E
F#m F#m A E
F#m F#m A E
F#m F#m A E

F#m F#m F#m F#m
F#m F#m F#m F#m

[Verse 1]
F#m D/F#
I heard the sound of voices in the night
F#m A E
  Spellbound, there was someone calling
F#m D/F#
I looked around, no one was in sight
F#m A E
Pulled down, and I kept on falling

[Pre-Chorus]
D A
  I’ve seen this place before
Bm Bm Bm A
You were standing by my side
D A Bm Bm7 E
I’ve seen your face before to - night
             E
Maybe I just see what I want it to be
              E
I know it’s a mystery

[Chorus]
F#m D/F# F#m
   Do you remember me
A E F#m
On the street of dreams?
                   D F#m
Running through my memory
A E F#m
On the street of dreams

[Instrumental]
D E

[Verse 2]
F#m D/F#
There you stood a distant memory
F#m A E
So good like we never parted
F#m D/F#
Said to myself I knew you’d set me free
F#m A E
And here we are right back where we started

[Pre-Chorus]
D A
  Something’s come over me
    Bm Bm Bm A
And I don’t know what to feel
D A Bm Bm7 E
   Maybe this fantasy is real
             E
Now I know I see what I want it to be
                 E
But it’s still a mystery

[Chorus]
F#m D/F# F#m
    Do you remember me
A E F#m
On the street of dreams
                   D/F# F#m
Running through my memory
A E F#m
On the street of dreams
                D/F# F#m
You're in every face I see
A E F#m
On the street of dreams

[Instrumental]
A E F#m
A E

F#m D/F#
F#m A E
F#m D/F#

[Pre-Chorus]
D A
   Something’s come over me
    Bm Bm Bm7 A
And I don’t know what to feel
D A Bm Bm7 E
  Maybe this fantasy is real
             E
Now I know I see what I want it to be

A E F#m
On the street of dreams
                   D/F# F#m
Running through my memory
A E F#m D F#m
On the street of dreams
A E F#m
On the street of dreams
                D/F# F#m
I know you have always been
A E F#m
On the street of dreams
             D/F# F#m
Will we ever meet again (my friend)
A E F#m
On the street of dreams
                         D/F# F#m
Do you know just what it means to be
A E F#m
On the street of dreams
                D/F# F#m
Never know just who you’ll see
A E F#m
On the street of dreams

[Fade]
                   D/F# F#m
You can be who you want to be oh yeah
A E F#m
On the street of dreams
               D/F# F#m
I can hear you calling me
A E F#m
On the street of dreams

I think this is great... I'd suggest a Capo on 3rd Fret...
Start with Em instead of F#m. You get all those tasty pull off notes especially in that pre-chrous "[C]Somethings come [G]over me, and [Am]I don't know what to feel" Overall great job brotha! Going to play it the same way you got it here, but with my little transpose Capo-3 ;)

You have a good point with the pull-off notes. I like to play things the way they're written because it may be required by the other voices, and besides it keeps my playing clean even with uncomfortable chords.
