[Verse]
G
Suppose I called you up tonight,
Bm
And told you that I loved you,
C D G
And suppose I said "I wanna come back home."
C G D/F# Em Bm
And suppose I cried and said "I think I finally learned my lesson
A7 D
And I'm tired of spending all my time alone.
G Bm
If I told you that I realized you're all I ever wanted
C D G
And it's killing me to be so far away.
C G D/F# Em Bm
Would you tell me that you loved me too and would we cry together?
A7 D
Or would you simply laugh at me and say:
[Chorus]
G Bm C
"I told you so, oh I told you so.
Am D
I told you someday you would come crawling back
G D
and asking me to take you in
G Bm C
I told you so, but you had to go,
Am D G
Now I found somebody new and you will never break my heart in two again."

And told you I was yours forever
C D G
Would you get down on yours too and take my hand ?
C
Would we get that old-time feeling
G D/F# Em Bm
Would we laugh and talk for hours
A7 D
The way we did when our love first began

Would you tell me that you've missed me too
Bm
And that you've been so lonely
C D G
And you've waited for the day that I returned
C
And we'd live and love forever
G D/F# Em Bm
And that I'm your one and only
A7 D
Or would you say the tables finally turned
And would you say
[Chorus]
G Bm C
"I told you so, oh I told you so.
Am D
I told you someday you would come crawling back
G D
and asking me to take you in
G Bm C
I told you so, but you had to go,
Am D G
Now I found somebody new and you will never break my heart in two again."

Great song with a great chord layout. Thanks to everyone involved. Now, if someone could come up with an alternative to playing that D/F# chord, I'd be on top of the world. Very difficult for me to make that change.
