“Hourglass”

Verse 1
B
Nothing is forever
                      F#m
And good things never last
    E
And learning in the future
                            F#m
Is based on lessons from the past
                 B
Thought we were Gold in the Fire
                    F#m
And we could not be burned
           E
Until you lost your desire
                F#m
And I melted to learn

Pre-Chorus
C#m E B F#m
Thought I could stop you from changing shape
C#m E B F#m
But two people cannot believe on one mans faith

Chorus
B
And your love is was
F#m
An hourglass
E
What I thought I’d found
F#m
Was too good to last
B
And your love it was
F#m
A promise made
E
But our lock and key
F#m
Held a broken chain
    C#M E
And now when I see you
       B F#m
I just don’t understand
 C#m E
All that I needed from you then
                       B F#m
Has now become all the time on my hands

Verse 2
It was torture to see it coming
As we reached our end of days
The sands of time were falling
From a Pre-Mature Heart Decay
And as I stood in falsehood
In our final hour
I prayed for the roots of a Redwood
But you withered like a flower

Pre-Chorus
And when you finally spoke the words that broke my heart
I couldn’t blame you too much when I knew from the start

That your love, it was...

Sorry, but these chords are off. The ones I use(with a capo on 1st fret, standard tuning) are A, E, D, and at one point in the last part of the chorus, a Bm. I'll post a tab soon, but for now, those that I just named are correct. Just play around with 'em. I'm just past the newbie or amateur level, and it took me fifteen minutes to find out the patterm. Will post tab ASAP, including the fingerpicking.

Agree with first poster. Capo one and move all the chords in the tab down a step. As put in the comment above, use A, E, D, E. And for C#m just use a Bm

no, these chords are correct (with the exception that all of the F#s are major instead of minor). you just need to tune your guitar down a half step like it says on the tab.
