Not a great song to tab because the guitar isn't as sick now that John left.
But me and my bros are learning this song so we can cover it and I thought I
might help out any other guitarists that were hoping to do the same.

Here is the youtube link if you want to see my brothers and I perform this song...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovdIjyyDh2U

Also, some parts are hard to make out because of the mix (and my laptop is
pretty stuffed) but I did my best, not too sure about the chorus guitar but
if you have a better idea please feel free to post corrections and stuff.

Happy learning from your fellow RHCP lovin' guitarist.

[Verse]

There's no guitar for the 1st half of the verse, but this comes in on the 2nd

[Chorus]

I can't hear all of the chords, but I recognise a few of them, play these chords
and you'll get away with it. It sounds pretty RHCP anyway.

e|---8-------8-------8------10------|
B|---9-------9-------8------11------|
G|---8-------10------8------10------|
D|---10------10------10-------------| x2

E|----------------------------------|
^Strum each chord for one bar, strum on 16th notes.

[Verse 2]
[Chorus 2]

[Bridge]

e|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--16-15-13-----14-13--------13-----------(13)~~-----------------------| Instead of the (13) play
G|-----------15--------15-13-----15-13-10-------------------------------| 11th on the b string the
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------|x2 2nd time
A|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
^This whole section has a tonne of chorus and reverb type stuff on it.
You could do a lot of sliding or even whammy bar usage to get a sound
more like the recording (on top of a heap of chorus).

[Verse 3]
[Chorus 3]

[Outro/Solo]

This whole section has a lot of tremolo effects on it, if you've got a delay
pedal just turn up the repeats a lot, I think it has a bit of the 'phase'
effect as well, not too sure tho.

If you don't have any pedals you could get away with just picking each note
a few extra times.

e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--16-(16)-15-(15)-13-(13)---------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------15-(15)--------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------15h17--13h15-------------------------------| x4
A|-----------------------------------------------13h15--8h10--6h8-------------|
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------6h8--------|
^If you have a delay pedal or something that will do the job, don't play
    the bracketed notes.

e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--6------------10-8h10-8h10-10----------------8h10-10-10-------------------8h10-10-10---------|
E|----8-8-8--8-8--------------------8-8-8-8-8-8------------8b10r8--8-8-8-8-8------------8-8-8-8-|
^add wah pedal from here to the end of the song.

e|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------10h12-10h12------------------10h12-10h12--|
D|----------------------10-10-10--------------10--10-10-10-10--------------|
A|--8-8-8-8----------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------10-10-10-10----------------------------------------------------|

e|-----------------------------------------------------------|
B|-----------------------------------------------------------|
G|--------------------10h12-10h12-----------10-8-7-8---------|
D|--10b12r10-10-10-10--------------10-10-10----------10~~----|

Great tab, but at the chorus perhaps try this instead?:

e|---8-------8-------8------10------|
B|---9-------9-------8------11------|
G|---8-------10------8------10------|
D|---10------10------10-------------| x2
A|----------------------------------|

Fantastic tab, very well done. :) I really love this song and the entire new album! I can see how this may not be the most fun song to tab since the guitar is very understated and subtle, but I think that it suits the song perfectly. It's been 7 years, and John isn't coming back. I think that Josh is doing a fantastic job. :)
