SPEAK TO THE SKY (Rick Springfield, Seekers, et al)

Verse 1:
E
Speak to the sky when ever things go wrong
                                       A E
and you know you're not talkin' to the air, to the air,
        B A E
and the world will look better from up there

Verse 2:
E
Speak to the sky 'cause things can get you down
                                        A E
and you know when you're talkin' to the Lord, to the Lord,
         B A E
and the world will look better than before.

CHORUS:
B A E
And if I stumble and it seems that I am blind
B A E
or if the road I'm on seems awful hard to find
B A E
and though my conversation doesn't always rhyme
A B
I always try to find some time to .......

Verse 3:
E
Speak to the sky and tell you how I feel
                                        A E
and you know sometimes what I say ain't right - it's all right
        B A E
cause I speak to the sky every night

CHORUS:
B A E
And if I stumble and it seems that I am blind
B A E
or if the road I'm on seems awful hard to find
B A E
and though my conversation doesn't always rhyme
A B
I always try to find some time to .......

Verse 3 (again):
E
Speak to the sky and tell you how I feel
                                        A E
and you know sometimes what I say ain't right - it's all right
        B A E
cause I speak to the sky every night

Verse 1 for coda:
E
Speak to the sky when ever things go wrong
                                       A E
and you know you're not talkin' to the air, to the air,
        B A E
and the world will look better from up there
        B A E
and the world will look better from up there
         B A E
yes, the world will look better from up there.

I forgot to put it in the tab above, but Rick actually does this song in the key of A. You can use the transposer to get it into A - Just make sure the FIRST chord is A, and the song is then in A :-)

I've put it in in E, which is the way the Seekers do it (and also the way I do it, singing an octave below Judith Durham). While I can sing it in A, it really zaps the energy - I find E a lot easier to manage.
