If you just wanna play the chords you could also put a capo on the second thread with your normal tuned guitar and play the chords how you know them (without the barre stuff)

To get the melody from the GNS acoustic version: Dm's - 1st string, 5 beats, Fret 1, 0, 1, 0, 3. F's - lift your barre finger just enough to release the 1st string, so fret 1, 0, 1, 0 (damn tricky, so optional). Am's - 2nd string fret 1, 0, 1, 0. G's - second string, fret 0, 3, 0, 3....... Hope that makes sense!
