[Intro]

B F#

[Verse 1]
B D#m
Amazing, grace-filled guiding light
E F#
See her safely home tonight
B D#m
The east-side squares've grown cold and loud
E F#
Since I lived there with the twilight crowd
E F#
The west end lights have lost their wow
E B
Trail my thoughts, show me the way to the heart of her
E B
I'm half-lost, wondering if I should follow
   F#
Or lay low

[Verse 2]
B D#m
Sweet, slight arresting bright light smile
G#m F#
Peels back the layered big city style
B D#m
And reveals me in the mystery
G#m F#
of what her world could mean to me
E F#
She's an island girl I'm lost at sea

[Chorus]
B D#m E C#m F#
When I was young the radio played just for me, it saved me
B D#m E C#m F#
And now I don't want anyone who wants me, baby
B D#m
Tuning out the darkness
G#m C#
Turning on the dawn
B F#
If life was like the songs, I'd surf across the curved horizon
F# B
and forget her and be gone

[Verse 3]
B D#m
So I check my map for tiny signs
   G#m F#
Of where she's at and where she's been
B D#m
But it's made from scraps of stupid lines
     G#m F#
From songs and scenes and magazines
E F#
It doesn't tell me what it means
E B
Take her face out of the start of the day for me
E B
I'm half crazed, wondering if I should follow
   F#
Or let it go

[Bridge]
          B
Can't get straight
        D#m
Lost my way
        G#m F#
I'm overcome by her spell

[Chorus]
B D#m E C#m F#
When I was young the radio played just for me, it saved me
B D#m E C#m F#
And now I don't want anyone who wants me, baby
B D#m
Tuning out the darkness
G#m C#
Turning on the dawn
   B F#
If life was like the songs, I'd surf into the waves
    F# B
and in a splash of silver she'd be gone

Thanks for doing this. A couple of things though. he sings 'the east end squares have grown bright and loud'rather than 'east-side'. On the lines 'Trail my thoughts ...' & 'Take her face ..'' if you play Cmaj7 there instead of C, it sounds more like the recording. But it's a great job anyway!
