[Intro]

[Verse 1]

                    Em
Spend all your time waitin'
           G
For that second chance
      D G A
For a break that would make it okay
                    Em
There's always some reason
        G
To feel not good enough
         D G A
And it's hard at the end of the day
               Em
I need some distraction
   G
Oh beautiful release
D G A
Memories seep from my veins
          Em G
Let me be empty and weightless
               D G A
And maybe I'll find some peace tonight

[Chorus]

       D
In the arms of the angel
     F#m
Fly away from here
          G
From this dark cold hotel room
        D A
And the endlessness that you fear
        D
You are pulled from the wreckage
        F#m
Of your silent reverie
              G
You're in the arms of the angel
        D G A
May you f-i-nd
             D
some comfort here

[Verse 2]

                Em
So tired of the straight line
    G
And everywhere you turn
        D G A
There's vultures and thieves at your back
               Em
Storm keeps on twistin'
        G
keep on building the lies
         D G A
That you make up for all that you lack
                 Em
It don't make no difference
  G
Escaping one last time
     D G A
It's easier to believe
              Em
in this sweet madness
        G D G A
Oh this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

[Chorus]

       D
In the arms of the angel
     F#m
Fly away from here
          G
From this dark cold hotel room
        D A
And the endlessness that you fear
        D
You are pulled from the wreckage
        F#m
Of your silent reverie
              G
You're in the arms of the angel
        D G A
May you f-i-nd
             D
some comfort here

Hey, some of us are not music students and learned enough chords to play simple versions of songs for our own gratification. I'm glad this version is here. I'm going to play a slightly more challenging peice, but three years ago it would have been this one. Don't critisize what you don't undertand. It would be like Marvin going birding with me and saying an Eagle was a Hawk. I'd know they were wrong but the bird would still be beautiful and this version is still music some of us can play and find peace with.
