i'm positive this is 100% correct. i've played through this many times, and this is what 
does.

which could be chords strummed instead of this.

Is There A Version Of This In Standard Tuning ?

You could play this version in standard tuning if you want, and it would still sound the same, the only difference is that it would not sound the same when you play along with the song. This is the way to do it like he does. The only simplified way I can think of is to use a Cut-Capo on the 2nd fret on the A, D, and G strings, and repeat the tab above.
