Careless Whisper Bass

OK this is my first tab and I'm at work without a bass or the song to listen to, but
listened to the song a million times with headphones and studied them playing it live.
 
The reason why I'm posting is that there NO bass tabs for this song and all of the
tabs are WRONG.  First off, the song is in the key of D, however they are all tuned to
C.  The tell tale sign that they are in C is durring the bridge part if you listen
you'll hear the LOW C to D Durring the "Tonight the music seems so loud"
 
Note: Watching them play it live it looks like the bass player plays some chords instead
just the root notes or may hit the 5th or octave but I'm not sure if he's just goofing
live or if it's in the studio version, you'll have to check.  Also, play along to get
timing right.
