Why make this song harder then what it is.

Because that is how she plays it. You can hear the double 4th and 5th strings playing the main riff. For sure that was all that retuned guitar did nothing else. Either it was another guitar player or most likely over dubbed. The bass line would have been enough to sing and get the rest of the music. Anyway, your version has the wrong notes for the riff. Compare the notes on your version and this version. The main riff is not a simple blues fingering like the start of rocky mountain way.
