Smokie - Oh Carol

So here it is, simple chords and patter, some tongue twisting lyrics and as a result
beautiful, worth of learning song.
As most of Smokie songs are, this one follows the 12-bar blues pattern,i might be
here not talking about a blues song,
but it's what I call it.

Starts with:

e|--------------|
B|--------------|
G|--------------|
D|--0--2--4--5--|
A|--------------|
E|--------------|

Played on bass.At the five you enter singing.

[Verse 1]

G
I was out cruisin', gettin' late and I was losin'
                        D
When I saw you walkin' my way

So nonchalant, I bet you get what you want
                                G
But so do I and I ain't losin' today

G
Well your hips were swingin' and your jeans were clingin'
                                D
You were driving me out of my mind

On a hot afternoon when there's nothin' to do
                                                G
You're not the sort of thing a fellow should find

G
So I pulled on over, tossed your hair off your shoulder
                                D
As you turned and you looked my way

Oh you would have died or you'd have skinned me alive
                                  G
If I'd have said what I wanted to say

G
So bein' polite said what you doin' tonight
                                D
You said it just so happens I'm free

You got all the right curves and all the right words
                     G G7
And that's alright by me

[Chorus]

C G
Oh Carol you got me eatin' my heart away,
G D
You got me countin' my nights and days
                                G G7
Oh I'm floatin' on the milky way-ay-ay-ay,
C G
Oh Carol, nobody's done it before
                          D
Oh baby you've opened the door,
D G
Oh Carol you can do it some more

[Verse 2]

G
Well if you're ready for this when we started to kiss
                             D
She said hold on a minute or two

Well naturally I knew it couldn't be me
                             G
I said baby what's troublin' you
G
She said I'm not sixteen if you know what I mean
                                D
So we sat and we talked for a while

But when we finally kissed you know she didn't resist
                             G
And I must say she did it with style

[Chorus]

C G
Oh Carol you got me eatin' my heart away,
G D
You got me countin' my nights and days
                                G G7
Oh I'm floatin' on the milky way-ay-ay-ay,
C G
Oh Carol, nobody's done it before
                          D
Oh baby you've opened the door,
D G
Oh Carol you can do it some more

[Solo Сhords]

Maybe a G7 if you want, then , the same as the verse:
G D G D G D
Then you go into the verse and play a more stacatto sound(this verse only):

[Verse 3]

G
Well I was out cruisin', gettin' late and I was losin'
                          D
When I saw you walking my way

So nonchalant, I bet you get what you want
                                G
But so do I and I ain't losin' today

[Chorus]

C G
Oh Carol you got me eatin' my heart away,
G D
You got me countin' my nights and days
                                G G7
Oh I'm floatin' on the milky way-ay-ay-ay,
C G
Oh Carol, nobody's done it before
                          D
Oh baby you've opened the door,
D G
Oh Carol you can do it some more

I love this song. I perfer using a D7 than a D in the verses, to me it sounds more like the recording, I keep the D in the chorus though. Great job, man! Exactly what I came up with while jamming to random songs.
