Digging For Something

I don't know about you but I think this is one of the best songs ever
written by this band, and since there are no tabs for it here we go.
Please check out the new Superchunk album "Majesty Shredding" because its brilliant.

intro + verse:

   B B/Bb G#m F# C#m
e|-22X-2-2-44-2-----------|
B|-444-4-4-44-2-4h5-4h5s7-|
G|-444-4-4-44-3-----------|
D|-444-4-4-66-4-----------|
A|-221s2-2-66-4-----------|
E|---------44-2-----------|

B G#m F# C#m
I hear there's a classic mess out on Old 86,
B G#m F# C#m
a ride out there could be the thing to get us fixed
B G#m F# C#m
I left a shadow there last month stuck in the ground
E
could still be around

B A
and we laughed when the paddle boat sank
         B A
we were dancing on the propane tank

(play the B and A as E-shape barre chords with open b and e strings.
like this B:799800 A:577600)

                C#m Ebm
everybody in the half-light out on the lawn
          E F#
they were kicking up dust 'til they were gone

          E B F#
oh oh oh, they were digging for something

E B F# C#m F#

play intro once

B G#m F# C#m
who's the shadow now? the party moved inside
B G#m F# C#m
I don't know how to dance this slow but I can try
B G#m F# C#m
one funny thing, I claimed to know the host yeah but I lied
E
let's go you early riser

B A
and we laughed when the paddle boat sank
        B A
we were dancing on the propane tank
                C#m Ebm
everybody in the half-light down at the pond
          E F#
they were sinking in mud 'til they were gone

            E B F#
oh oh oh, they were digging for something

C#m E B F#

  C#m E
it's just getting dark and you're waking up
B F#
waking up, waking up
   C#m E

Hey... really great job transcribing this. Thanks very much for doing it. I have one thing to add/change. That E chord directly before the (correctly noted on your part) B to A with the open high E and B strings... the pre-chorus, if you will. That E major chord is also played up on the 7th fret with the two high strings open, like this - E:079900, but brilliantly, halfway through that measure it turns into an Emaj7 chord (still with the open strings)... basically setting up the B chord that comes right after it. So it's two beats of E:0079900, and then two beats of Emaj7:079800, then into the B and A pre-chorus. Other than that, the transcription seems like aces to me. Cheers!s2qs
