I named the chords like they are without the capo. so the a-minor chord would originally

Nice! It's much easier to swtich chords like this than using the Capo on the first fret and playing Bm D Ab G, which is what I've been doing.

However, I think that the ending is a bit odd. It sounds better (to me, at least) to do Am C Am7 C, so just basically holding the C chord shape and pulling off the 3rd fret on the A string and hitting it open, then going back to C.

lol, dude. The changing of one chord doesn`t bring any difference except you knowing about it`s existance. And it`s much harder to switch between the chords like you wrote.
