Can anyone tell me the backing melody in the solo, I've been trying to work it out cos the guitarist in my band can't do it. He's not very good

Good attempt and thanks for sharing. That intro lick is aw hole note bend to A on the B string from 12th fret on G. The following lick is 12 to 11 on G the 12 on D with a bend.

For the intro, the 'while the other guitar does this' should be D D G A D D A G F# D
