D|------------------| Repeat as necessary
A|------------------|
E|------------------|

[Intro/Verse 1]

Em C
I found God
         G D
On the corner of First and Amistad
Em C
Where the west
     G D
Was all but won
Em C
All alone
 G D
Smoking his last cigarette
          Em C
I said, “Where you been?”
    G D
He said, “Ask anything.”

[Verse 2]

           Em
Where were you
         D C
When everything was falling apart?
         Em
All my days
       D C
Were spent by the telephone
            Em
That never rang
     D C
And all I needed was a call
          Em
It never came
         D C
To the corner of First and Amistad

[Chorus]

Em C
Lost and insecure
G D
You found me, you found me
Em C
Lying on the floor
G D
Surrounded, surrounded
Em C
Why’d you have to wait?
G D
Where were you, where were you?
Em C
Just a little late
G D
You found me, you found me

[Verse 3]

       Em
In the end
D C
Everyone ends up alone
       Em
Losing her
         D C
The only one who’s ever known
      Em
Who I am
D C
Who I’m not, and who I want to be
          Em
No way to know
    D C
How long she will be next to me

[Chorus]

Em C
Lost and insecure
G D
You found me, you found me
Em C
Lying on the floor
G D
Surrounded, surrounded
Em C
Why’d you have to wait?
G D
Where were you, where were you?
Em C
Just a little late
G D
You found me, you found me

D
Early morning
            C
The city breaks
             D
I’ve been calling
                                    C
For years and years and years and years
                           D
And you never left me no messages
                        C
You never sent me no letters
                       D
You got some kind of nerve
              C
Taking all I want

[Chorus]

Em C
Lost and insecure
G D
You found me, you found me
Em C
Lying on the floor
G D
Surrounded, surrounded
Em C
Why’d you have to wait?
G D
Where were you, where were you?
Em C
Just a little late
G D
You found me, you found me

End on
Em

I think the entire Verse 2 section (Where were you...) should be Em, D, C instead of G, D, C. Sounds better with Em. Chorus and bridge are great!

hey possible put a capo on 4 and during the verses playing along with the song, using Em c D, instead of G,C,D I think is what is supposed to be played, but just my opinion
