lyrics are a little off ... "It's got me…scared and so sweet" is actually "GOT NEW SKANK IT'S SO REET" skank meaning moving side to side or dancing, reet meaning righteous. Understanding this site is for chords and tabs, but when you sing AND play, I thought it deserved correction.

I know this is about the chords but the lyrics are wrong. This song is written with British slang.

GMaj7add9 has an A in the chord...that's the "add9"
GBDF#A are the notes in that chord (it's technically a "GMaj9" chord...no need to notate the 7th, it's implied when you have an 9th in the chord....(or a chord without a 7th {F#} in the voicing, would be called a Gadd9 {GBDA}
a D6/G has the same notes in it GABDf#...I know it can be confusing, but there are Rules in Music theory that dictate the use of 1 chord name over the other even though they have the same notes in them... This site has a CHORD theory page on it>>>https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/lessons/chords/basic_chord_theory_iii.html
As All great chefs have must earn/master certain "recipes"....MUSICIANS Must strive to have some knowledge of Music Theory in their arsenal;-)
