the beginning chords for the verses sound like both E major not a minor to a major. just sounds like he plays the root E and then the third of the chord (G), then plays the fifth of the E chord B, but in this case the chord is Asus2 because the root changes from E to A. so the verse chord progression becomes Eno3, E, Asus2------.
