VERSE 1
                            E C#m
She said "You can't stay a saint that long in the city"
                    E C#m
you laugh at the thought on the the elevator down
C#m
You're just a phone call away

C#m E
You're placing a big blind bet on the underdog
E
and though its a stretch, you believe
C#m
when you're against the odds, and on your feet
                     A B
with you at your best, and promises kept,
                   C#m E
she'd rather stay here with you on the laziest afternoons with you.

CHORUS
E B E C#m B
Lost in pacific time with the sound of a dial tone
E B C#m B E
let the memories count the miles and never be forgotten.

VERSE 2
You woke to the screech of the wheels on a runway
over an ocean of praise on a stage,
the songs of your love fall to your knees.
with you at your best, this is all you've got left,
she'd rather stay here with you on the laziest afternoons with you.

CHORUS

BRIDGE
         G#m A
Was it something that she said, something that she did
              B
to make you leave her here alone?
         G#m A
Was it something that you said, something that you did
         B
to make her leave you here?
          B
Don't leave me here alone.

CHORUS

The only thing that dosent sound right is the second E in the chorus on "time." Sounds like an A to me.
